We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact by integrating industry best practices into our operations. Our Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Management System outlines the specific laws and regulations we adhere to, assigns ownership of standard procedures for consistent execution, and ensures timely data tracking and reporting. We report required data to the EPA, review environmental performance monthly, and conduct periodic internal audits to maintain accountability and drive continuous improvement.
Energy and emissions
Douglas Dynamics is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by strategically investing in systems and technologies to reduce energy consumption at our manufacturing facilities. Efforts include LED lighting upgrades, smart sensors, community solar program participation, and energy-efficient building designs.
We also track select emissions data and are working to implement systems for more accurate and comprehensive data collection to better assess our environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
water and waste management
We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint by minimizing landfill waste and conserving water resources. Our facilities track waste production, water usage, and discharge to drive site-level improvements and ensure regulatory compliance.
We prioritize recycling—scrap steel, cardboard, and office materials—and partner with Waste Management to enhance landfill diversion and waste-to-energy efforts. Our water conservation strategy includes recycling through reverse osmosis, wastewater treatment, and certified stormwater management practices.

As more fleets transition to electric vehicles, our Dejana facilities are evolving to support them by adding EV charging and adapting upfitting processes to help improve efficiency and battery life.
